Congrats on your new tattoo! ❤️
How you treat your tattoo over the next 30 days will determine the final appearance. Treat this new tattoo as an open wound to avoid infection & always wash your hands prior to touching area.
Derm Shield / Saniderm
✨Your bandage is a medical-grade breathable, waterproof bandage.
✨Leave the bandage on for up to 4 days.
✨Plasma will build up underneath, I know it looks gross but that’s actually perfectly normal. Plasma is what helps your wound recover, when exposed to air it creates that hard shell, but underneath the saniderm it instead stays liquid. If a large amount of plasma leaks out or if any of the tattoo ends up exposed take off the bandage.
✨If your skin looks irritated, feels overly itchy within the first couple of days, or there are marks forming around the bandage that's an indication your skin doesn't like the bandage and to take it off.
✨You can cut off any excess bandage to keep the area clean and prevent accidental pull offs.
✨The bandage is mostly waterproof. You can shower with it, but please don’t get into tubs of water with it.
✨Do not exercise at all for 48 hours after the tattoo. Do not expose your tattoo to the sun or tanning beds during healing.
✨After 4 days, peel off your bandage with clean hands while running clean, lukewarm water over the area, preferably in the shower. Peel down not out as I've found that less ouchy.
✨Gently wash the tattoo with clean hands, warmish, running water and unscented, liquid soap, such as Dr. Bronner’s, soft soap, or mild unscented soaps.
✨Pat the tattoo dry with a paper towel and apply a thin layer of ointment.
✨Wash & ointment your tattoo twice daily for a week, or until skin is no longer tender, dry, or shiny and the texture returns to normal. Don’t be afraid to massage the tattoo with the ointment. It helps break apart any buildup skin trauma.
✨Exercise while the second skin bandage can trap sweat and create a reaction. It can also stretch your tattoo linework and break the linework. Please take up to a week off from working the area tattooed.
✨Once your tattoo is healed, minimize sun exposure by covering it with clothing or a strong sunscreen or you risk fading your tattoo. Good skincare is good tattoo care. Use lotion on your tattoos, even after they are healed, to keep them vibrant and crisp over time.
✨I guarantee my tattoos for a free retouch for up to 6 months. If it’s not 100% just contact me!
